IFC has six films at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, including two North American preems and three pics that will be released simultaneously on video-on-demand and at the cinema through IFC’s In Theaters program.
Na Hong-Jin’s thriller “The Chaser” and Peter Van Hees’ drama “Left Bank” will have their North American premieres in Austin. Other pics on the IFC slate include French toon anthology “Fear(s) of the Dark,” Danish kung-fu coming-of-age drama “Fighter” and “The Wild Man of the Navidad,” directed by Duane Graves and Justin Meeks. Cannes selection “The Good, the Bad, the Weird” rounds out the bunch.
Three of the films will head to IFC’s Festival Direct VOD platform before their theatrical releases: “Fighter,” due out Nov. 16, and “Navidad” and “Bank,” due in 2009. As for the In Theaters program, “Fear(s)” is slated for Oct. 29, and “Chaser” and “Weird” will be released in 2009.
