Venezuela’s most bankable thesp, Edgar Ramirez (“The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Vantage Point”), is attached to play the lead in Colombian crime thriller “Saluda al diablo de mi parte” (My Regards to the Devil) by Juan Felipe Orozco.
This will be Orozco’s second pic. He is set to helm the English-language remake of his debut feature “Al final del espectro” (At the End of the Spectra) for Universal Studios in 2009, with Nicole Kidman attached to star and produce.
Ramirez plays a former guerrilla member, who is reluctantly drawn into the vengeance scheme of one of his victims.
Budgeted at $600,000, pic is written by Juan Felipe’s brother Carlos Esteban Orozco and produced by Sanantero Films, formed by the Orozcos and exec producer Alejandro Angel.
Principal photography of “Saluda al diablo de mi parte” kicks off in Bogota, Colombia, this month with a theatrical release slated for December.
