Aussie pics get stamp of approval

Local films immortalized on postage

Local pics will be immortalized on postage stamps for the first time in November to mark the Australian Film Institute Awards’ 50th anniversary.

The public can vote for their five favorite films, which will appear on the stamps, at the AFI website.

The pic with the most votes will be announced as the greatest Australian film of all time at December’s AFI Awards, to be broadcast on the Nine Network.

Paul Hogan’s 1987 comedy “Crocodile Dundee” remains the highest-grossing Oz title ever but could be a longshot for the title after 21 years.
