The sixth annual Variety Screening Series launches this month on both coasts. The L.A. series kicks off Tuesday with Sony Pictures Classics’ “Rachel Getting Married,” and the next pic in the Gotham series is Miramax’s “Blindness” on Sept. 23.

L.A. screenings will take place at the ArcLight in Hollywood, New York’s at Landmark’s Sunshine Theater.

Pics unspooling in both cities include “Rachel Getting Married,” Sony Classics’ “Synecdoche, New York,” Paramount Vantage’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and DreamWorks’ “The Soloist.”

Q&A guests have not been finalized, but the L.A. series will feature a screening of Miramax’s “Happy-Go-Lucky,” with an appearance by helmer Mike Leigh. Also, Anne Hathaway and Rosemarie DeWitt will take questions at the Hollywood unspooling of “Rachel.”

Highlights of the Gotham series include a screening of “Synecdoche, New York” with helmer Charlie Kaufman answering questions, and a Q&A with Hathaway, DeWitt and helmer Jonathan Demme after the screening of his film “Rachel Getting Married.”
