TORONTO — The Toronto Documentary Forum announced Thursday that it has tapped Elizabeth Radshaw as director.

Radshaw replaces TDF founding director Michaelle McLean, who stepped down in June for the new Canwest-Hot Docs Completion Fund.

Radshaw most recently helmed acquisitions for the London-based TVF Intl. Television Distribution, where she consulted with producers on development, budgets and pitching projects to international commissioning editors. She also participated at key international markets. Radshaw, a grad of Montreal’s McGill U., sat on TDF’s international selection committee earlier this year.

Since bowing in 2000, the TDF, North America’s premier international doc market event concurrent with the Hot Docs international film festival, has raised millions for Canuck and international docs by assisting producers in raising co-financing from the international marketplace. TDF earlier this year broke previous records, with 550 delegates, including 190 web execs and distributors.

Hot Docs, North America’s largest doc fest, confab and mart, presents its 16th edition April 30-May 10. TDF runs May 6-7. Applications for projects slots will be accepted starting in December.
