Drama sweeps Argentinean film festival

BUENOS AIRES — Argentine adventure-suspense drama “Historias extraordinarias” (Extraordinary Stories) swept the eighth Tandil Cine, a growing film festival in the Argentinean province of Buenos Aires that wrappedJune 28.

The jury awarded a special mention to helmer Sandra Gugliotta (“A Lucky Day”) for “Las vidas posibles” (Possible Lives), a mystery about a missing geologist.

Lucia Puenzo’s 2007 Cannes-laurelled hermaphrodite drama “XXY” won debut fiction and screenplay. Lucia Cedron picked up director for “Cordero de dios” (Lamb of God), with Malena Solda taking actress for the Sundance-acclaimed kidnap drama.
