Alcon hands ‘Valet’ keys to Furman

Entertainment co. taps director for thriller

Alcon Entertainment has tapped Brad Furman (“The Take”) to direct the suspense-thriller “Valet,” and is fast-tracking the project for a first-quarter production start.

Nicole Rocklin and Wendy Rhoads are producing along with Alcon toppers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. Steven Wegner will exec produce.

Story, penned by Alan McElroy with a rewrite by Matthew Aldrich, is inspired by a true story stemming from a parking attendant who became obsessed with a female customer and systematically inserted himself into her life.

“The Valet” will be released through Alcon’s output deal with Warner Bros.

Alcon recently released “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2” and announced a green light for  “The Book of Eli” starring Denzel Washington with the Hughes Bros. directing. Rocklin recently produced “Middle of Nowhere” and Rhoads produced “The Haunting in Connecticut.”
