Focus Features has upped Jane Evans to a newly created post as exec veep of physical production. Evans will report to Andrew Karpen, Focus prexy and co-prexy of sibling Rogue Pictures.
From Focus’ Gotham offices, Evans will supervise physical and post-production on all inhouse film productions and acquisitions for both Focus and Rogue.
Evans first joined Focus in 2004 as senior veep of physical production.
Domestically, Evans has taken advantage of key local tax incentives, such as with the current untitled Sam Mendes project (lensing primarily in Connecticut), Rogue’s “Fighting” (Gotham) and “The Strangers” (South Carolina). Overseas, Evans coordinated “In Bruges,” “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day” and “Eastern Promises.”
Evans was a member of the Task Force on Diversity at New York Gotham’s Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting as. She’s also piloting a program with the office to reduce carbon emissions on Focus and Rogue productions.
Prior to Focus, Evans was senior veep of physical production at Miramax Films.Upcoming Focus releases are “Hamlet 2” and “Burn After Reading.” Rogue’s current offering, “The Strangers,” is the company’s top-grossing feature thus far.
