Television: Miniseries Actress

2008 Golden Globes nominees

Bryce Dallas Howard, “As You Like It”
Queen Latifah, “Life Support”
Debra Messing, “The Starter Wife”
Sissy Spacek, “Pictures of Hollis Woods”
Ruth Wilson, “Jane Eyre” (“Masterpiece Theatre”)

Sissy Spacek has been nommed for Globes only twice in the past 20 years — for feature films “In the Bedroom” and “Crimes of the Heart” — and she’s won both times. She has four previous noms and a win for “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” This is her first time as a TV nominee, representing Hallmark Hall of Fame’s “Pictures of Hollis Woods.”

Debra Messing was nominated six times for her role in NBC’s comedy “Will & Grace,” and “The Starter Wife,” which will be returning as a weekly series on USA Network, marks a new chapter in her career.

Queen Latifah, who has been gaining wide acceptance as an actress since transitioning from a musical career, received top notices in HBO’s “Life Support.”
