Sweden sends ‘Moments’ to Oscars

STOCKHOLM — Jan Troell’s “Everlasting Moments” has been named Sweden’s entry for the foreign language film Oscar contest.

Pic, based on the life of the grandmother of the helmer’s wife, is about Sweden’s first female photographer.

It world preemed at the Toronto Film Festival, with a 125 minute running time. The international version has been cut to 110 minutes.

Pic was produced by Final Cut Film Production’s Thomas Stenderup. Co-producers are Gota Film’s Christer Nilsson, Blind Spot Pictures’ Tero Kaukomaa, Motlys’ Sigve Endresen, and Christof Groos and Ute Schneider of Schneider & Groos.

Troell picked up Oscar noms for director and adapted screenplay for 1971’s “The Emigrants.”
