Finland picks ‘Dark Butterflies’

Karukoski film heads for Oscars

STOCKHOLM — “The Home of the Dark Butterflies,” helmed by Dome Karukoski, has been picked as the Finnish entry for the foreign-language film Oscar.

Story is about a troubled youth who gets a fresh start at an island-set reformatory.

Pic is also Finland’s entry for the Nordic Film Prize, the winner of which is unveiled on Oct. 15.
