ABC’s “Lost,” HBO’s “The Sopranos” and NBC’s “30 Rock” have scored two DGA nominations each in TV categories.
“Lost” received mentions for its “Through the Looking Glass” and “The Brig” segments, while “The Sopranos” took noms for “Made in America” and “Sopranos Home Movies” in the drama series category. AMC’s “Mad Men” drew the other drama nom for its pilot seg.
Tim Van Patten received his sixth DGA nomination for “Sopranos Home Movies.” He won two DGA awards for “Sex and the City.”
“30 Rock” scored for “Rosemary’s Baby” and “Somebody to Love” in comedy series. Other comedy mentions went to ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” HBO’s “Entourage” and ABC’s “Pushing Daisies.”
Noms in TV movies went to USA’s “The Starter Wife,” ESPN’s “The Bronx Is Burning,” HBO’s “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” TNT’s “The Company” and ABC’s “Oprah Winfrey Presents Mitch Albom’s One More Day.”
The DGA also announced TV nominations Thursday morning for variety, reality, daytime, children’s TV and commercials.
In addition, it revealed noms in a documentary category that includes both TV and feature film entries: Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s “The War,” Alex Gibney’s “Taxi to the Dark Side,” Asger Leth’s “Ghosts of Cite Soleil,” Richard E. Robbins’s “Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience” and Barbet Schroeder’s “Terror’s Advocate.”
Winners will be announced Jan. 26 at the guild’s 60th awards ceremonies at the Century Plaza.
