CineAsia has tapped Mark Zucker, president of distribution for Sony Pictures Releasing Intl., as recipient of its distributor of the year award.
The kudo will be presented at CineAsia’s awards ceremony on Dec. 11 at the Wynn Macau in Macau.
Zucker is a 33-year veteran of the industry, having held exec slots in both international and domestic distribution, marketing and finance for Paramount, MGM/UA, TriStar Pictures, Columbia and Sony.
Releases during Zucker’s tenure as Sony’s international distribution chief have generated more than $10 billion at the box office, including “The Da Vinci Code,” “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” the “Spider-Man” franchise, “Hancock,” “Hitch” and the “Charlie’s Angels” franchise.
Previous recipients of the award include Kurt Rieder of United Intl. Pictures, Paul Hanneman and Tomas Jegeus of Fox, William Ireton of Warner Bros., Jeff Forman of Buena Vista Intl. and Roger Pollock of UIP.
