BERLIN — Goetz Spielmann’s “Revanche” has been selected as Austria’s entry for the foreign language film Oscar.

Produced by Vienna-based Prisma Film & Fernsehen, pic follows an ex-con’s efforts to start a new life by robbing a bank and taking refuge in his elderly father’s farm.

“Revanche,” which is also on the selection list for the European Film Awards, has already received 10 awards and screened more than two dozen international festivals, including Telluride, Toronto and Monterrey in Mexico, where it picked up the audience award and won best screenplay.

The Match Factory is handling international sales for the pic.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences will announce its nominees for foreign-language film on Jan. 22. The Academy Awards ceremony takes place Feb. 22.
