Audio Society sounds off nominees

'300,' 'Wild,' 'Old Men,' 'Bourne' among field

“The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Into the Wild,” “No Country for Old Men,” “300” and “Transformers” are the Cinema Audio Society nominees for outstanding achievement in sound mixing for motion pictures, CAS prexy Edward L. Moskowitz announced today.

CAS kudos go to production mixers and re-recording mixers for programs and films released or aired during the previous calendar year.

Nominated TV series are “CSI” (“Living Doll”), “Jericho” (“Why We Fight”) “Scrubs” (“My Musical”), “The Sopranos” (“The Blue Comet”) and “24” (“Day 6: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.”).

The TV movie and miniseries nominees are “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” “The Company” (“Part 2”), “High School Musical 2,” “The Kill Point” (“Part 5”) and “Tin Man.”

The CAS Awards will be presented Feb. 16 in the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
