HONG KONG – “Parking” has been announced as the opening film of the 2008 Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival (Nov 6-21.)

Helmed by local director Chung Mong-hong (second ref: Chung), pic is the surreal adventure of a divorced man, as he searches for the owner of a car that double parks next to his, preventing his exit and reunification with his wife. “Parking” was screened at the Un Certain Regard sidebar at Cannes this year.

Also announced is Yang Li-zhou’s (second ref: Yang) documentary “Conquer the North Pole” as the Chinese language closing film. “Paris” by French helmer Cedric Klapisch was announced as the festival’s foreign-language closing film.
