TOKYO — To support start-ups in the toon, pic, game and other creative fields, the Tokyo city government will open the Tokyo Contents Innovation Center
(TCIC) on August 1.
TCIC will supply reasonably priced office space to both individuals and venture companies, while providing biz info and networking support. The Center will also sponsor seminars open to all, not only TCIC occupants.
The Tokyo city govenment is already supporting creative businesses through a variety of initiatives, including the annual Tokyo International Anime Fair,
but TCIC is the first physical facility it has established for contents companies.
Located in Tokyo’s Nakano Ward, near the center of the city’s thriving toon production base, TCIC will offer 25 offices and three conference rooms, with a total area of 16,267 square feet. TCIC will be taking application for occupants from July 3 to 18.
