Press Tour Meets John Edwards

The press appears to be ignoring the latest twist in the John Edwards love child story, and Edwards himself seems to have ignored the press.

My colleague Michael Schneider points out the obvious on his Franklin Avenue blog: If Edwards actually did what the National Enquirer says he did, he chose a dubious place to do it. The Beverly Hilton on Monday night was hosting the final night of the Television Critics Assn. Press Tour, meaning that the entire place was teeming with journalists.

Schneider writes, “Granted, many journos had probably already departed the BevHilton — Monday was the last day of press conferences at the hotel, while Tuesday was devoted to set visits outside the venue. Still, I’m assuming several out-of-town TV critics were still still at the hotel — and quite possibly staying up late, as it was the final night of the tour.”

There are many mysteries to the story, not the least of which is the answer to the question: If the Enquirer was chasing Edwards with cameras, where are the pictures?
