Obama on “O’Reilly Factor”

Wednesday afternoon

Barack Obama will appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Thursday, further proof that media boycotts never really hold or that hell has frozen over.

There had been considerable buzz that Obama would appear on the show for the first time since he became a presidential candidate. O’Reilly will tape the interview in York, Pa. on Thursday and the first part will be shown that night. Later excerpts will be shown in the coming days.

Now, will John McCain do “Countdown with Keith Olbermann”?

Michael Wolff writes in the new issue of Vanity Fair that Rupert Murdoch personally brokered a truce between Fox News and Obama, at a meeting he held with the candidate and Roger Ailes at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Wolff reports that Obama was “deferential” to Murdoch but “lit in” to Ailes, before a “tentative truce” was reached.
