With no Globes, E’s gone to the “Doggs”

Globese Biggest winners of the Golden Globes cancellation: Gin and juice aficianado Snoop Dogg, philanthropist Hugh Hefner and celebutard Kim Kardashian.

E! Entertainment Television has almost entirely scrapped its Golden Globe coverage (in contrast to rival TV Guide Network, which is still running three hours of Globe-a-mania), instead turning to mini-marathons of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood,” as well as a new episode of “The Girls Next Door.”

Ryan Seacrest will still be working that night, offering E! News cut-ins to announce the Globes winners.

E! will brand the block of programming as “Stay Home Sunday,” now that Hollywood will be leaving their dresses in the closet rather than boozing it up at the Beverly Hilton. “Kardashians” will air from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (ET), followed by “Snoop Dogg” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The new “Girls Next Door” seg follows at 10 p.m.

E! notes that it will still be offering coverage, including live blogging, at its website, and E! News will overview the Globes on Monday.

With the change in programming, E! said that its sales team “is working with advertisers to develop suitable make-good packages.  E! delivered its most watched year ever in 2007 and as the network posts more record ratings in the new year we are confident that we will continue to provide valuable opportunities on the network.”
