WGA: We (probably) won’t picket Globes

Now WGA is telling its feet on the street that it most likely won’t be picketing the Golden Globe “announcement” on Sunday at the BevHilton after all. But there are plans for a special twilight picket of CBS TV City tonight to herald the resumption of production on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” sans scribes. Dizzying, I know….

Here’s a message sent by strike captains to members late Thursday:

UPDATE—GOLDEN GLOBES: We’ve been told that the Golden Globes has been scaled down to a news event, and if this is true, we will not be picketing. We are monitoring the situation, however, and will be prepared to picket if there is any change in status. We’ll keep you posted.

Plans for today also call for picketing today’s tapings of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Real Time with Bill Maher” — both of which have returned to the air without an interim deal.

ACTION—FRIDAY PICKET AT NBC BURBANK: Friday January 11th from 2:30 – 5:30 we will be picketing at NBC Burbank.

ACTION—FRIDAY PICKET AT CBS TV CITY: Friday January 11th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm we will be picketing at CBS TV CITY for the taping of REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER.
