“How To Succeed in Hollywood Without Really Trying — P.S.: You Can’t!” is the title of Mel Shavelson’s tell-all. Well, maybe a lot about the reel Hollywood. While the book’s to be published this summer, a limited number of copies will be available on April 1—which is Shavelson’s 90th birthday. Multi-award-winning writer Shavelson has scripted over 35 theatrical features. His book tells about working with the likes of Sophia Loren and Cary Grant, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, Paul Newman, Angie Dickinson, Bob Hope, etc.
I know whereof he writes, since I have itemed him countless times in my column.
