Sid Ganis was exuberant. "I couldn’t be happier," he enthused as I congratulated him. He was elected, Tuesday night by the board for his third term as President of the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. "It’s a great opportunity," he told me, "to continue on the road which has many more interesting turns than ever before," Finalization of land for the Acad’s museum, a decision on its architect, of course, are among the projects plus the Acad’s many programs. And, of course, talks about the 80th Oscars, for which neither a (new?) producer or (new?) emcee been chosen. Ganis will also eligible for a fourth term per Acad by-laws. He looks like a natural for that term as well.
