PARIS — Numbers are expected to be up by more than a quarter at TV France Intl.’s annual Rendezvous Sept. 3-7, organizers said Thursday.
Some 230 buyers from 49 countries are down to attend French TV’s annual sales confab, which has shifted from its usual St. Tropez venue to Biarritz, on the Atlantic coast, for the first time. Last year, the mart drew 202 buyers.
Some 54 French distribution companies will be in attendance, touting some 822 new or recent Gallic programs.
During the event, TVFI will reveal export figures for last year. In 2005, revenues from international sales stood at Euros 150.8 million ($205.3 million), more than 40% of which came from sales and pre-sales of Gallic animation shows. Docus were in second place, repping nearly 25%. Sales to Western European countries accounted for nearly 60% of the total.
