BERLIN — ProSiebenSat 1 has become the latest broadcasting group to sign up with Premiere Star, the satellite service from pay TV broadcaster Premiere set to launch in September.
As part of the long-term carriage agreement, Premiere Star will carry ProSiebenSat 1’s pay TV outlets Sat 1 Comedy and Kabel Eins Classics, which launched last year on digital cable.
The channels will be included in Premiere Star’s ProSiebenSat 1 Plus package, available to subscribers a la carte.
Sat 1 Comedy showcases Hollywood and European films, sitcoms and series, such as “Desperate Housewives,” as well as popular ProSiebenSat 1-produced comedy formats.
Kabel Eins Classics airs classic U.S. and European films from the 1940s through the 1990s as well as beloved TV series.
Premiere Star will initially offer up to 20 pay TV channels, including MTV Music, MTV Entertainment, tyke outlet Nick Premium, Turner Broadcasting System’s Boomerang, Cartoon Network and Turner Movie Classics, Kinowelt TV and new entertainment channel E.Clips.
