NBC is making Sunday all about the art of the “Deal.”
Net is moving one edition of its hit quizzer “Deal or No Deal” to Sundays at 9 p.m., shifting dealmaker Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” to the less competitive 10 p.m. Sunday timeslot. Switcheroo kicks in March 4.
“Deal” has been taking a bit of a beating on Wednesday nights opposite Fox’s “American Idol.” “The Apprentice” has held its own at 9 p.m. Sunday, but the “Deal” lead-in – and reduced 10 p.m. competition–could give it a boost.
Odd duck out in the sked shuffle is “Crossing Jordan.” Now struggling against stronger competish on Sundays, skein will replace “Deal” Wednesdays at 9 p.m. starting March 7.
“Jordan” will now compete against both “Idol” and CBS’s “Criminal Minds.” Industry insiders consider the show a longshot to return next fall, though no decisions have been made.
Changes will result in NBC airing all unscripted fare on Sundays and nothing but dramas on Wednesdays. Another edition of “Deal” remains Mondays at 8 p.m.
