PARIS — Children’s web Jetix Europe is linking up with French production house SIP Animation and French TV broadcaster TF1 to produce animated action comedy series “Combo Ninos.”
The Combo Ninos are four kids who can transform themselves into animal-inspired superheroes — a jaguar, a bull, an iguana and an eagle.
Using their magical skills and martial arts, they must protect their beautiful ancient city from diabolical immortals from another dimension, including an insect determined to have bugs rule over humans and a demented artist seeing the world as his landscape.
The animation includes richly detailed landscapes and scenery, with inspirations from a mixture of different ancient Latin American civilizations.
The show, aimed at 6 to 10 year olds, will debut on Jetix Europe’s channels in August 2008.
Jetix Europe holds the TV distribution rights and home video and consumer product rights for the series across Europe.
Disney’s Buena Vista Intl. Television will handle international TV rights for “Combo Ninos” and will launch the 26 episodes at the MIPCOM Junior market in Cannes this October.
