BARCELONA — Barcelona-based Drimtim Ent. has inked with Endemol Spain to produce a package of three made-for-TV movies.
Sony Pictures Television Intl. will handle international distribution, as on the six previous Drimtim made-fors, Drimtim sources said.
First up, and about to start principal photography in Barcelona, is “Hidden Camera,” the seventh Drimtim made-for production. Spain’s Antena 3 TV has broadcast rights for Spain.
Helmed by Drimtim regular Bryan Goeres (“Art Heist,” “The Deal”), “Camera” is toplined by Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” “Lost”) and Spanish thesp Lucia Jimenez (“The Kovac Box,” “The Borgia”).
Cast also includes William Miller, Carles Reig, Terry McClean, and Fermi Reixach.
Budgeted at $3 million, “Camera” is an action-thriller in which two TV journalists, after the death of a brother, stumble on an international coin forging syndicate with high-level foreign government involvement.
Teaming with Drimtim, Endemol Spain has taken its first step into the production of made-fors.
For Drimtim, “Camera” repeats a pioneering but now tried-and-tested made-for production formula: English-language dialogues, an international cast, entertainment-action plot lines, and a cinema-like finish.
