NBC’s Conan O’Brien will host a gala at the New York Comedy Festival to benefit the Bob Woodruff Family Fund, which provides assistance to families of wounded military service members.
The “Stand Up for Heroes” event will feature performances by Lewis Black, Bruce Springsteen and Robin Williams. Benefit will be held at Gotham’s Town Hall on Nov. 7.
Chairs for the evening include Peter and Megan Chernin, Bob Iger and Willow Bay, Leslie Moonves and Julie Chen, Richard D. and Laura Parsons and Jeff and Caryn Zucker.
Woodruff was severely wounded in Iraq in January 2006 when his convoy was hit by a roadside bomb. He has slowly returned to work at ABC News over the past year; he and wife Lee established the charitable fund in 2007.
Honorary co-chairs of the event are former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush.
The benefit committee includes Christiane Amanpour, Jeff Bewkes, Tom Brokaw, Tina Brown, Katie Couric, James Gandolfini, Kelly Ripa, Diane Sawyer, Harvey Weinstein and Barbara Walters.
