Aussie’s Nine Network still losing

Regional affiliate defects to rival Seven

SYDNEY — More bad news for the beleaguered Nine Network as one of its regional affiliates, WIN Corp. in South Australia, has defected to the Seven Network.

WIN Corp. topper George Papadopoulos said part of the reason for the switch, skedded for October, was access to Australian Football League, which is wildly popular in the southern state.

However, he also cited Seven’s commitment to a slew of Australian shows including “City Homicide,” “All Saints” and “Dancing With the Stars.”

Nine is likely to lose its dominant position in the ratings this year for the first time in two decades.
