ROME — The Rome Film Festival kicked off Oct. 18 with a double dose of Italo star power provided by Sophia Loren, who received a lifetime achievement award, and Monica Bellucci, who stars inGallic gangster pic “Second Wind,” which opened the fest.
Bellucci paid tribute to Loren at a press conference earlier in the day saying, “I do this job inspired by women like Sophia Loren and Claudia Cardinale.”
Upon receiving her Imaie Acting Award, Loren said, “I hope I deserve this,” the resulting standing ovation seeming to serve as her answer.
