Grand Classics takes ‘Look’

Spooky pic screens at Electric cinema

LONDON — Brit artist and filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood unveiled Nicolas Roeg‘s spooky Venice-set classic “Don’t Look Back” at the Motorola Grand Classics screening series held at Notting Hill’s Electric cinema Sept. 24. “When asked to come up with a favorite film, it was really difficult and I got down to about five and I realized that actually, three of Nicolas Roeg’s films were on my list,” Taylor-Wood said.

Roeg was on hand to discuss his 1973 pic with guests at the pre-screening drinks but shunned the limelight of the stage and slipped away just as pic unspooled.

Attendees included Courtney Love, “Little Britain” comic David Walliams, pop act the Pet Shop Boys and thesp Imogen Lloyd Webber.
