Jennifer and Suzanne Todd, producers whose ‘60s era tuner “Across the Universe” opens in limited release Friday.

Last book I bought:
ST:
“The Beautiful Miscellaneous” by Dominic Smith

JT: “The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I read it while I was in Barcelona and it made the city seem so much more intriguing to me.

Book I’m reading:
ST:
“Queen Takes King” the next soon-to-be best seller by Gigi Levangie Grazer

JT: “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls

Total number of books I own:
ST:
520 linear feet of shelves that are full. I just measured. I am obsessed with books.

JT: Too many to count. I buy more than I could ever hope to read.

Three books that mean a lot to me:
ST:
“A Patriot’s Handbook” by Caroline Kennedy

“The Happiness Hypothesis” by Jonathan Haidt
“The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton

JT: This is like “Sophie’s Choice” but okay.
“The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald
“Ask the Dust” by John Fante
“The Day I Became an Autodidact” by Kendall Hailey

Last film I saw:
ST:
“The Devil Wears Prada,” directed by David Frankel. I saw it on a plane for my 6th time and it still plays as great as the first.

JT: “2 Days in Paris,” directed by Julie Delpy. I was really impressed with her filmmaking.

Three films that mean a lot to me:
ST:
“Singin’ in the Rain,” directed by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly. One of the best musicals of all time and I really love musicals
“Austin Powers,” directed by Jay Roach. I met my husband on this movie and we’ve been married ten happy years and have three amazing kids.
“Citizen Kane,” directed by Orson Welles. I wrote my senior thesis at USC film school on it.

JT: Again it’s like “Sophie’s Choice” to pick only three…
“Annie Hall,” directed by Woody Allen
“Tootsie,” directed by Sydney Pollack
“Singin’ in the Rain,” directed by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly

Last CD I bought:
ST:
CD? I have no idea. I buy music on iTunes and the last thing I bought was “High School Musical 2” for my kids — Me and the rest of the known universe.

JT: “Icky Thump,” the White Stripes

Song currently playing:
ST:
“You Can’t Stop the Beat,” from Hairspray. (See “love of all musicals” above.)

JT: “Debe” by Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate from “In the Heart of the Moon”

Songs that mean a lot to me:
ST:
“Gabriel’s Oboe,” Ennio Morricone from “The Mission” soundtrack. The song played when I walked up the aisle at our wedding.
“Minuet in G,” Bach — The first song I learned to play on the cello and still my favorite.
“Cryin’,” Aerosmith — Excellent for driving fast with the top down.

JT: Okay, only three again:
“Blue Horizon” by Sydney Bechet
“Waiting on a Friend” by the Rolling Stones
“Tower of Song” by Leonard Cohen sung by Martha Wainwright on the “Leonard Cohen: I’m Your Man” soundtrack.

Favorite Drink:
ST:
Mighty Leaf chamomile tea and icy cold Cristal champagne.

JT: It’s a tie between coffee and white wine.

Favorite Charity:
ST:
I support charities that choose to raise money by hosting poker tournaments in lieu of chicken dinners.

JT: Planned Parenthood

Favorite Vacation:
ST:
Hualalai. Over and over again.

JT: Capri, Cap-Ferrat and Palm Springs.

Favorite Vice:
ST:
Crackberry

JT: Dark chocolate and TiVo

Five people who I’d like to see answer this survey:
ST:
Oprah Winfrey, Anne Wojcicki, Kathy Kennedy, Meg Whitman, J.K. Rowling

JT: Bob Dylan, Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep, Eddie Izzard, Chris Nolan
