Oxygen has picked up celebreality series “Tori and Dean: Inn Love” for a second season.
Nonscripted skein following Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott as they operate a bed-and-breakfast will return to the net this summer, Oxygen execs said.
Femme-centered web has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which in addition to the business also chronicles the couple’s lives as new parents. Pair’s “entrepreneurial spirit really resonates with the Oxygen viewer,” said programming and marketing prexy Debby Beece.
Spelling series was a minor hit for Oxygen in its debut season, scoring well with its target women 18-34 demo.
With category leader Lifetime facing executive upheaval, Oxygen is hoping to capitalize by breaking out new hits, especially those aimed at the same younger aud Lifetime is now seeking. Oxygen currently has “The Bad Girls Club” and “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” among its younger-skewing shows.
Skein reps the second go-round for Spelling on cable; thesp had “NoTORIous,” a sitcom partly based on her own life, on VH1 last year.
