Streets to close for Oscars

Academy Awards ceremony might cause delays

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the City of Los Angeles have announced street closure plans for the 79th Academy Awards.

Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive will be closed from Sunday at 10 p.m. until Monday, Feb. 19, at 6 a.m. It will close again at 10 p.m. that night and will remain closed until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Additional side streets and sidewalks will be closed from Feb. 19 to Feb. 25, the day of the Academy Awards presentation.

MTA subway trains will bypass the Hollywood and Highland station after the last regularly scheduled train on Saturday, Feb. 24, until 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26.
