‘Storm Hawks’ land at RTL II

Series aimed at 6-11 year old boys

BERLIN — RTL II has picked up Nerd Corps Entertainment’s new animated series “Storm Hawks” from Munich-based licensing firm M4E, which recently acquired all rights for the series in German-speaking territories.

Aimed at 6-11 year old boys, “Storm Hawks” was created by Asaph Fipke, CEO and founder of Vancouver-based Nerd Corps.

“RTL II is a leading kids broadcaster for boys action programming in Germany,” said Hans Ulrich Stoef, CEO of M4E. “This deal is a significant milestone in our cross-media strategy for Storm Hawks.”

“Storm Hawks” is set in a fictional world where five mismatched teens don the mantle of a legendary sky knight squadron and take up the battle against a nefarious villain on flying motorcycles.

The action series is currently airing on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and will launch this year in several countries, including Canada on YTV as well as French-language broadcaster VRAK; in the U.K., France and Latin America on Cartoon Network; and in France on France 3.

MGM Worldwide Television Distribution has picked up the rights to distribute it in all territories, excluding North America and Western Europe.
