CBS signs anchor to multiyear deal

CBS Television Distribution has signed Deborah Norville to a multiyear deal to remain anchor of “Inside Edition.”

She joined the newsmagazine in 1995. Previously, Norville worked at CBS News, where she anchored “America Tonight” and reported for “48 Hours,” “Street Stories” and “CBS Evening News.”

“Edition” scored its highest-rated week in more than three years with a 4.1 for the frame ended Feb. 11, up 8% year to year and up 11% week to week.

CBS Television Distribution produces and distributes the show, currently in its 19th season and renewed through the 2011-12 season.
