NBC reups Ingold

Exec signs new deal with network

Not everyone is leaving the Peacock fold: NBC Entertainment comedy chief Jeff Ingold is staying put.

Exec has inked a new multiyear deal with the net that will keep him in charge of all laffer development. He’ll keep his senior VP title and report to newly tapped NBC development chief Teri Weinberg.

NBC Entertainment co-chair Ben Silverman already knows Ingold, having worked with him while developing “The Office,” as well as three other comedy pilots this spring.

“Jeff is a skilled executive with great relationships in the industry, both of which will continue to be a tremendous advantage in shaping our future NBC comedy classics,” Silverman said.

Ingold has been in his current post since January 2006, when he moved to the network from the Peacock’s studio sibling. At the time, he followed Katherine Pope from the studio to the net. But now, with Pope moving back to head up the studio, he’s decided to stay at the network.

During his tenure at NBC U Television Studio, Ingold spent a year in comedy development and another year overseeing current programs. He previously had worked at the Peacock net in both comedy and current programming.
