Sales chief adds three execs to team

NBC Universal sales chief Mike Pilot has added three direct reports in a shuffle of the media conglom’s advertising sales structure.

Marianne Gambelli was raised to president of NBC network ad sales from exec VP of sales and marketing, responsible for core network TV sales businesses including entertainment, news, sports and Olympics, as well as regional offices in Chicago, L.A. and Detroit.

Debbie Riechig, a consultant for NBC U’s integrated media group, joins as senior VP of market development, overseeing strategic marketing and ad research.

John Sabino, formerly VP of strategic initiatives, becomes senior VP of commercial excellence to “simplify and digitize sales, marketing and operational activities in order to make the selling process easier and more effective.”

All three will report directly to Pilot, joining the sales team of Ed Swindler, Blaise Aldridge, Barbara Blangiardi, Jay Linden, Steve Mandala and Peter Naylor.

In the coming weeks, Pilot said, a new cable sales exec will be named to oversee sales for USA, Sci Fi Channel, Bravo, Chiller, Sleuth and Universal HD.

“This new structure allows us to better position our selling, marketing and consumer insight capabilities,” Pilot said.
