Berger is the very model of a modern studio exec in a key international territory. The president and managing director of Warner Bros. Entertainment U.K. joined the studio straight from Harvard, working his way up via postings in Paris and Madrid. When he came to London, he was the first Warner exec to be put in charge of all its operations in a single territory, from film distribution and production to TV, home entertainment and mer- chandising. He personally runs theatrical distribution while overseeing everything else. With the “Harry Potter” franchise and Tim Burton both based in Blighty, Warner spends hundreds of millions of dollars on U.K.-based production every year, and Berger has proved a safe pair of hands at the helm.
