Lifetime has recruited Jeffrey Schneider to serve as the cabler’s senior VP of business affairs and deputy general counsel.
Schneider will oversee Lifetime business affairs for scripted skeins, reality and alternative shows, made-for-TV movies and digital programming.
He joins Lifetime from Fox TV Studios, where he was senior VP of business and legal affairs. Schneider will serve in Lifetime’s Los Angeles office and report to Pat Langer, exec VP of legal, business affairs and human resources.
Schneider will work with Lifetime Entertainment prexy Susanne Daniels and senior VP of business affairs-general counsel Linda Rein.
Langer said the channel’s success this summer with the hit “Army Wives” created the need for additional execs to “continue raising our programming profile within the creative community.”
“With the increasing complexity of dealmaking in today’s multiplatform business, Jeffrey’s wide-ranging background brings to the table the necessary legal and business skills this position requires,” Langer said.
Schneider’s credits also include serving as senior VP for business affairs-deputy general counsel at MTV, handling legal and business matters related to the channel’s West Coast affairs.
