Itkin tops TV Hall of Fame board

Academy oversees selection

Mark Itkin has been named chairman of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Hall of Fame selection committee.

Itkin, the exec VP and worldwide co-head of television at the William Morris Agency, will oversee the process by which individuals are chosen for recognition for their contribution to the arts, sciences or management of telecommunications.

“In this position, Mark will play an important role in preserving and honoring the rich history of the television industry,” said TV Academy chairman-CEO Dick Askin.

Honorees for the TV Acad’s Hall of Fame were last selected in 2006; those inducted into the group included Tom Brokaw, Leonard Goldberg, James Burrows, Regis Philbin and William Shatner.

The TV Acad will resume the Hall of Fame inductions in 2008.
