Fox Sports ups Greenberg

Exec will also continue current role

Fox Sports, loaded with big events in the next two years such as the 2008 Super Bowl, the World Series, the Bowl Championship Series and the Daytona 500, has named George Greenberg executive VP of programming and production.

Greenberg will also continue in his current role as head of programming and production for Fox Sports Networks, where he supervises national programming, scheduling, event production and original series.

“As creative director at the inception of Fox Sports,” said David Hill, chairman and CEO of the Fox Sports TV Group, “George was an integral part of our immediate success, helping select our sets, graphics, talent and music, and contributing to our over-all philosophy.”

At FSN, Greenberg oversees production of such series as “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” “FSN Pro Football Preview,” “Totally Football” and various boxing matches.

Greenberg was exec producer of “Best Damn Sports Show” from 2001 to 2003, when he was promoted to his FSN job.

In his EVP role at Fox Sports, Greenberg reports to Hill and to Ed Goren, president of Fox Sports. At FSN, Greenberg reports to Bob Thompson, president of Fox National Cable Sports Networks.
