ABC Family revs up ‘Circuit’

Network greenlights TV movie on racing

ABC Family has greenlit the TV movie “The Circuit,” which stars Billy Campbell (“The 4400”) as a fading stock car racer.

Project, from von Zerneck/Sertner Films, pits Campbell opposite Michelle Trachtenberg (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as a racer whose career is on the decline — and who suddenly finds himself competing against his estranged daughter on the track.

Frank von Zerneck and Robert Sertner are exec producing, along with William Gilmore and Charles Lenhoff. Bill Haney wrote the project; Quinton Peeples and Janet Brownell are also working on the script.

Cast members also include Drew Fuller (“Army Wives”), who will play Trachtenberg’s love interest.

Two-hour pic is set to air sometime in 2008 on ABC Family.
