1983

April 4 — Show premieres as “The Morning Show” on WABC, New York, hosted by Regis Philbin and Cyndy Garvey.

1988

Sept. 5 — “Live With Regis & Kathie Lee” debuts in national syndication — first guest is Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

1990

Feb. 14 — First wedding on “Live.”

May 28 — First remote: USS Intrepid, New York City.

1991

Jan. 10 — Kelly Ripa’s first guest appearance.

1996

Jan. 26 — Mark Consuelos, Ripa’s future husband, makes his first guest appearance.

Feb. 19 — David Letterman’s first appearance.

March 19 — Don Rickles co-hosts with Philbin for the first time.

July 30 — Ripa and Consuelos appear as guests together on “Live.”

1998

April 20 — Destiny’s Child makes its TV debut on “Live.”

2000

March 1 — Gifford announces that she’s leaving the show.

July 28 — Gifford’s last day.

July 31 — Show retitled “Live with Regis.”

Nov. 1 — Ripa guest co-hosts for the first time; psychic Char tells Ripa she is pregnant.

2001

Feb. 5 — Ripa announced as permanent co-host.

Feb. 12 — Ripa’s first full week; show retitled “Live With Regis and Kelly.”

2002

March 19 — Joan Rivers and Thomas Gibson co-host the show (Philbin on vacation, Ripa sick).

2007

March 12 — Regis announces his bypass surgery.

April 26 — Regis returns to the show after surgery.

Sept. 3 — “Live’s” 20th anniversary season begins.
