Fox revamps midseason schedule

'Terminator' series to debut alongside '24'

Fox is revamping its midseason sked, pairing the net’s upcoming “Terminator” TV series with the return of “24” in January.

The newly retitled “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” will debut Monday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m., followed by the season-seven bow of “24.”

New show, originally titled “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” was announced in May with a Sunday night 9 p.m. timeslot. With “Sarah Connor” moving to Mondays, Fox will now keep its two-hour animation block (which had been slated to slide down to an hour) in its existing 8-10 p.m. block. Comedy repeats will air Sundays at 7 p.m. after football season.

In moving “Sarah Connor,” Fox program planning/scheduling exec VP Preston Beckman said he saw an opportunity “to make more noise in January.”

Meanwhile, “Prison Break,” which ends its fall run on Monday, Dec. 17, will return to the 8 p.m. slot on April 14 and conclude its run in June alongside “24.”

It’s unclear yet where “K-Ville” — originally scheduled to run in the Monday 8 p.m. slot during the “Prison Break” hiatus — will air in midseason, should it receive a full season order.

“Sarah Connor,” from Warner Bros. TV and C2 Pictures, carries on where “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” left off, with Sarah (Lena Headey) and son John (Thomas Dekker) continuing their quest to stop the rise of the Terminator machines. Josh Friedman and John Wirth exec produce.
