The Academy of TV Arts & Sciences Foundation has elected NBC Universal TV exec Jerry Petry as the org’s new chairman.
Petry takes over for Sony TV topper Steve Mosko, who had served in the volunteer position since 2004.
“As a member of the foundation board, Jerry has made significant contributions to the foundation, and as chair, I am confident that he will be of great value as we continue to grow as one of the preeminent sources of information and support for the television industry.”
The Academy Foundation focuses on the history of TV, sponsoring educational and archival programs.
“With the rapid changes in technology and new media occurring in the television business, it is critical that we keep ahead of the curve and, at the same time, educate and guide the next generation of leaders in our field,” Petry said.
Petry has been exec VP of administration at NBC Universal Television, West Coast, since 2006. He’s been with NBC for 30 years.
