“This is Comedy Central,” said the net’s exec VP Lauren Corrao at the post-Emmy bash at Falcon. Corrao, along with MTV Networks prexy Doug Herzog and MTV Networks CEO Judy McGrath, celebrated with Emmy winners Jon Stewart, and Matt Stone and Trey Parker of “South Park” as well as Stephen Colbert, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Kimmel and William Shatner.
Corrao said it was the first time she’d seen so many of the net’s people in one place. Colbert concurred, saying, “Even though my studio is two blocks away, this is the only time I get to see ‘The Daily Show’ people.” Stewart, who shared the Shrine stage with proteges Colbert and Steve Carell, said while he’s proud they’re up for awards, “the real pride comes from working with these guys every day.” He compared Emmy night to watching a car’s odometer pass 100,000 miles. “You think that’s the milestone, but it’s really the journey you took getting there.”
