The next production at Off Broadway’s New York Theater Workshop is the world preem of “All the Wrong Reasons: A True Story of Neo-Nazis, Drug Smuggling and Undying Love,” a one-man show written and performed by John Fugelsang.
Show replaces the previously skedded “24 Hours Are Not a Day,” a production by German legit name Rene Pollesch that does not as yet have a future slot at the Workshop.
“Reasons,” which ranges from Malawi to Bangkok to Hollywood to Brooklyn, follows an ex-nun who marries a former Franciscan brother and has a child.
Tale may sound ambitious for Fugelsang, a comedian who has hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” But he’s also appeared on shows with a political bent, including “Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher” and “The ACLU Freedom Files.”
Pam MacKinnon, who helmed “Bach at Leipzig” at the Workshop, directs “Reasons,” which begins perfs March 23 and opens April 15.
