Duke will play the ‘Game’

Wreghitt to co-produce epic love story

DURHAM, N.C. — Randall Wreghitt, producer of the current Broadway hit “Grey Gardens” and “Little Women — The Musical,” which he shaped at Duke U. for the Great White Way, is again donning his producer’s hat for another Duke work-in-progress, “The Great Game,” written by D. Tucker Smith.

Wreghitt will co-produce with Jana Robbins, Joel and Phyliss Ehrlich and Duke’s Theater Previews. Show will run Feb. 14-March 4 at the Durham, N. C., university’s Reynolds Theater.

An epic love story set in 1870 London, “The Great Game” will be directed by Wilson Milam, nominated last season for a Tony for his staging of “The Lieutenant of Inishmore.”

Cast members for “Game” are Michael O’Hagan, Lois Markle, Anjali Bhimani, David Bishins, Christopher Burns, Marcus Dean Fuller, Robert Streggert and Yvonne Woods.

Unlike recent productions such as “Little Women — The Musical” and Tom Selleck-starrer “A Thousand Clowns,” which had Broadway venues booked before opening at Duke, the commercial future of “The Great Game” will be assessed during its run at the school.
